Griffon's Key Reserve Grenache
Wine
Kay Brothers Griffon's Key Reserve Grenache is named for the estate emblem: a griffon holding a key in its beak. A powerful guardian with a lion's body and an eagle's head and wings, it is reserved for the winery's finest Grenache.
Fruit is handpicked from an expressive parcel of vines in the Amery Vineyard in McLaren Vale. Only the best selections make their way into the wine.
The grapes are open fermented with hand plunging. After around 10 days, gentle basket pressing in a traditional 1928 press separates the juice from the skins. The wine matures for 10 months in aged French oak barrels.
Crimson violet, Kay Brothers Reserve Griffon's Key Grenache has concentrated berry flavours, supple acidity and fine silky tannins. Cellaring potential is six years.
